Last seasons Alpine Race LLC rolled out one of its best features for Coaches. Coaches were able to download up to 5 Runs for each race throughout the 2003-2004 season. These downloaded videos could be used for training purposes, side-by-side analysis and just plain fun to watch. Here is the post from USSA: http://www.ussa.org/PublishingFolder/3533_4633.htm
The USSA Coaches Education Program is partnering with alpinerace.com to offer same-day downloadable World Cup highlights. The new program will allow USSA coaches to not only view streaming webcasts of World Cup races, but to actually download them to their computer for future showing and analysis with USSA athletes.
“This is an exciting new feature we are providing to our coaches and fans, that will offer them the opportunity to follow the latest World Cup results and innovations that are occurring in the sport,” said USSA Alpine Director Jesse Hunt.
There are 52 men and women’s races available to purchase. Each race package contains the top three finishers, and then the next two Americans (if there are not two Americans in the field, the fourth and fifth place runs will be provided). The highlights can be purchased in single race, multiple race, and full season packages. alpinerace.com alerts subscriers when highlights are ready (usually three to four hours after each race).
Users simply login and start downloading. Download times may vary depending on connection speed, but, in general it’s fast! Same-day on-demand highlights means that coaches and fans can review and analyze runs from their own PCs, in their clubs – with their athletes. To purchase and download World Cup Highlights go to http://www.alpinerace.com/coaches/ Alpine Race LLC founder Julien David expressed his enthusiasm for this project, ”I’m thrilled to be working with the US Ski Team to help coaches provide the best coaching possible to their athletes, and to allow fans to see and download their favorite U.S. Ski Team racers.”
This feature is the latest new development from the USSA Coaches Education Department. Earlier in the season the U.S. Ski Team: Alpine Ski Fundamentals CD-ROM was released and is being regarded as one the finest coaching resources ever produced. Consequently, over 200 coaches have taken the new Level 100 Club Ski Fundamentals Course and are reporting great results.
These are the first in a series of new multi-media and internet based resources and courses being developed by the USSA Coaches Education Department to provide the latest alpine, freestyle and nordic skiing as well as snowboard technical information to coaches, racers and recreational skiers and riders. In addition, courses and resources will be developed to cover sport science and sport management topics that coaches, athletes and administrators should find invaluable.
